Free Gardening Class: Fruit Tree Grafting & Starthistle Control

Join Amador County Master Gardeners for a free class covering FRUIT TREE GRAFTING and STAR THISTLE CONTROL. Star thistle control is a year round task. Learn what should be done about this awful weed this time of the year. We will also hold a “hands-on” clinic covering grafting techniques for home gardeners. Whip, tongue and cleft grafts will be demonstrated and practiced; bud grafts will be discussed. A variety of fruit tree scions will be available. Open to the public, this free class is from 9am to noon on February 15th at the Amador County GSA Building, 12200-B Airport Road in Martell.

If you have any questions about the class or have other gardening questions, call the UC Cooperative Extension Master Gardeners of Amador County 10am to noon, Tuesday through Thursday, 209-223-6838 or e-mail, mgamador.
