Another use for our paper waste:

All the paper products we consume, whether in the form of envelopes, packaging, newspaper, cardboard, etc. were produced from trees or other plants. There are roughly three options for where this organic material
can end up. It can be put in our landfill, some types of it can be recycled (this uses large quantities of energy in transportation and production) or it can once again be returned to the soil as organic matter. This organic matter can be used to produce our own food. Cardboard will become soil in an unattended compost situation in as long as 8 months, in a well attended compost it can take as little as 2 weeks and with a worm box this particular use of our resources can be accomplished in 2 weeks with very little effort. It is best not to compost any cardboard, newspaper etc with shiny print, this contains toxic metallic inks.

Our goal with the Kriletich Family Farm is to empower the community through well being, interaction and
exchange, information, communication, consciousness and long term solutions.

Enjoy the week!

Benjamin Franklin – 1738
