I am so very blessed to be part of a growing community of spiritual friends. There is much to share, so please read through the newsletter to the end. Spring begins this month as life renews itself in so many wonderful ways. Join us at Sophia’s Well of Wisdom to celebrate Peace and the wonder of the Life that lives within and through us.

Comparative Religion & Spirituality Class

Shari

Shari Anderson, local musician and singer, has been on a spiritual journey for many years. That journey has led her to a greater understanding of many of the issues we face today as we seek a world of peace and love. As the class facilitator for Sunday March 7 and Sunday March 14, Shari will share from her inner storehouse of wisdom including what she has gleaned from her studies in the Baha’i faith and the Course in Miracles. Whether from playing her flute, or singing, or sharing her stories, you will be inspired and blessed.

Reiki Clinic

Reiki Clinics are held three or four times a year to both introduce the community to Reiki as well as provide funds for our local charities. Although the clinics are free, participants may donate to the designated local charity. The proceeds from the Clinic to be held on Saturday March 27 from 1-4 p.m. will go to the Amador County Interfaith Food Bank. The clinic is held at Sophia’s Well of Wisdom located at the Motherlode Holistic Connection, #8 Court Street in Jackson.

Reiki is a spiritual healing method that balances, regenerates, and vitalizes the body’s systems through “palm healing” or better known as the “laying-on-of-hands. The Japanese work Reiki is made up of two words Rei, which means “spiritual” and ki, which means “energy,” and is also referred to as “universal life energy.”

Reiki is not massage, hypnosis, or a tool for diagnosis. Rather, it is a gentle healing technique that addresses both chronic and acute conditions by helping to restore the body’s innate ability to heal itself. Reiki is relaxing and pleasurable as it provides an opportunity to let go and enjoy the experience of being nurtured and cared for in a safe and sacred space. Reiki practitioners are trained to conduct the spiritual energy of Reiki for the highest good of the client.

If you would like to try a session at the March 27 Reiki Clinic, call 418-9003 to ensure an appointment. Walk-ins will be accepted on a first come, first sever basis, but those with appointments scheduled will have priority on the schedule. Sessions last about 30 minutes with participants fully clothed while lying on a massage table.

Reiki Healing Circles are also held once a month on the first Monday of the month at Refresh at Sutter Creek, 81B Hanford Street. Refresh at Sutter Creek specializes in massage, bodywork, and spa therapies. The healing circles are a free community service with donations going to local charities. Each circle begins with an energy-active meditation and then Reiki is shared among participants around the massage table. A wonderful and relaxing experience for both the givers and the receivers!

COMMUNITY SERVICE:

REIKI HEALING CIRCLE meets first Monday of the Month from 6 – 8:30 p.m. Donations support local charities.

Reiki Clinic will be held on Saturday March 27 from 1-4 p.m. in the Jackson location. First come first serve for 30-minute individual treatments.

PLAYSHOP: SEEDS OF PEACE

Saturday March 20 from 2:30 – 5 p.m. – Monthly Intergenerational Interfaith Playshop

Laurie Story Vela & Jeremiah

Laurie Story Vela leads monthly Playshops co-sponsored by Sophia’s Well of Wisdom and New Thought Families. With help from son Jeremiah and Pastor Patsy, Laurie Story will delight and inspire “kids” of all ages. The playshops provide a time for intergenerational and interfaith sharing where you’re never too young to pray or too old to play! Enjoy music, singing, crafts, snacks, Laurie’s stories, games, and all around good fun as we learn spiritual truths that inspire people of all faiths.
The theme for the March Playshop is Seeds of Peace. It will be held on March 20 from 2:30 – 5 p.m. We will sing, play, pray, and celebrate Spring Equinox and honor balance in our lives. We will have an Affirmation Egg Hunt… plant seeds of Peace in ourselves, each other, and in the world… and in pots to take home! We support each other in
a Circle of Love.

The playshops are held at Motherlode Holistic Connection, # 8 Court Street in Jackson. The playshops are a free community service designed to inspire and strengthen families.
