Amador Co-Op Meeting

Subject: Amador Co-op Meeting and Food Boxes

Hello,

THE NEXT CO-OP ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING IS TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 1 AT 6:15 PM AT AMY TURNER’S RANCH IN AMADOR CITY. DIRECTIONS BELOW. PLEASE BRING A DISH OF LOCAL FOODS TO SHARE, PLUS A PLATE AND EATING UTENSILS.

Thank you for your interest in a local foods and products co-op. While we continue to work to organize the co-op, we have decided, as a first step, to create a produce subscription box. This step will help us determine the level of commitment in Amador County for purchasing local products, through the number of subscribers we are able to get. More importantly, the box will give consumers access to local products sooner, and keep up the momentum of interest we have seen so far.

The logistics of a subscription box are still being finalized, but we have determined that the box will cost $20 per week, with a pre-paid four-week minimum commitment.

The box will contain recipes to help the consumer get the most out of the produce.

Subscribers will pick up their box at a given place within a range of time; as of now we have chosen Tuesday as the pickup day.

That’s all there is to it! We will make every effort to ensure that the growers providing produce for the boxes use sustainable growing practices. In the future, subscribers may be able to have eggs, meat, honey, and other local products in their boxes for an additional fee.

Please reply to Michelle Grondin’s email, amadorcountyfarmersmarket@yahoo.com to subscribe to these boxes, or if you would like more information. In the meantime, I hope to continue to see you at the Farmers’ Markets!
